I Can Out-Cute You!

Mr. Chipmunk is back! His latest exploit was attempting to hypnotize my human bean with his cuteness. Shall we duel with our cuteness as weapons, chipmunk?

Mr Chippie showing off his profile

I can rock the profile too, Chippie!

Danielle brings out the one-two punch, the upturned paw and belly!

Who do you think was the winner?

Chippie Tracking

Human Bean: "Danielle, do you really have to be up there? If you're looking for Chippie, why are you in a tree? Chipmunks don't climb trees."

Danielle: Yes, I DO have to be up here. You never know about Mr. Chippie. He could be anywhere.

Danielle: Sometimes I consider getting hired help. They would appreciate my ideas and imagination. And they wouldn't be so worried about me climbing trees. On the other paw, if you have your human as your assistant, they serve you refreshments. Like the bonus tuna juice I got this afternoon. I think I prefer treats over appreciation of my tracking abilities. :)

The Eye of Predator

You know what you're up against, Mr. Chipmunk. You have invaded the last outpost of rodent free land that I patrol and control. I've been hearing you squeaking out secret messages to your little rodent buddies this morning, and the day before! Don't let your guard down! I have my partener and agent Virgil in Illinois cracking your secret codes. I will find you. I won't even rest on Saturday.

Chipmunks Again!

Oh. Dear.

Mr. Chippie is a smart fellow. Since I did a post about Mr. Chippie's Secret agent, Mr. Squirrel, he wants revenge. He has deployed his most potent mix of weapons against my human. They are: cuteness and little baby chipmunks.

When my humans were out weeding the garden, one of Mr. Chippie's offspring, shown here, was sent to the garden. He was told to brainwash my human into thinking that chipmunks are cute, harmless little critters. So, when my human was taking a break from gardening, the human looked up and, Lo and Behold, there was a little chipmunk sitting on a rock not far from my human. When my human moved up closer, the chipmunk just sat on the rock and ate seeds. It wasn't afraid, so my human started taking pictures. And he just sat there and acted cute.

Do you see what Mr. Chippie is trying to do? He's trying to brainwash my human! See those big eyes?

He's trying to look cute and harmless, both of which are obviously not true. OK, maybe he's just a tiny bit cute. Maybe.
I need your help on this. What can I do to get back at Mr. Chippie? He is definitely not playing by the rules, preying on my human like this. It requires a smart solution.

Squirrels!

Lately, I've been wonder if this guy is a secret agent for my enemy, Mr. Chipmunk. Or maybe it's Mr. Chippie himself, in a squirrel suit? OK, that'd be kinda rediculous.
Anyway, I've been finding Mr. Chipmunk's tunnels right and left in my yard. This is one I found a while ago. Now I've been finding ones that are very fresh. I don't think my human bean likes finding Chippie holes in our yard, either.

However, I have been sneaking up on Mr. Chippie when he's not looking. Then he sees me, and dives into his hole. Just for good measure, I go to his hole and meow insults down it. (OK, not really!) So, I'm pretty sure that I'm intimidating him quite well. I'll win this battle yet!

Nuts!

Is that Mr. Chippie?
Nope. Rats. Or would Nuts be more appropriate?

Trespasser Tuesday

I can see our pictures!! Yippie! I'm happy to see all of you again.

(Biggify to appreciate his purrty colors)
A couple of days ago, we had a trespassing Chinese Ringneck pheasant. The human bean didn't mind he was there, because this male pheasant was so purrty.
I, on the other hand wasn't furry impressed with his purrty colors. You can see I flattened out, because I thought maybe he was a bad guy and had an alliance with Mr Chippie. You never know. Mr Chippie is a crafty bugger.
Howefur, Mr. Pheasant didn't even seem to notice me. He happily strolled past.

Spring has Sprung, and Mr Chipmunk is Back!

It's finally here! Now I can be outside without being cold. It was a purrrfect day fur chasing spiders and tracking chipmunks. Speaking of chipmunks....
It smells as if one was here a minute ago.

Phooey! I missed him.

Ah Ha! A chipmunk hole! So that's where Mr. Chipmunk is hiding.

I'll mark this so I remember to check it tomorrow.

Wanted Part 4

Hello, this is Danielle reporting again about the saga between me and my arch enemy, Mr. Chippie. Mr. Chippie hasn't retreated to his underground hideout for the long winter. This will buy me time to confiscate key secret intelligence about his underground hideout.
I have found a fourth hideout in the north woods! Just when I thought I had it figured out, I found this! It is a super hideout with many entrances! It has many rooms for all of Mr. Chippie's Gang. It may be abandoned, but it is a very good find, because it shows were Mr. Chippie is and where he has been.

Crime scene photos:
1. I must destroy all the hideouts I possibly can so if I corner him, he has nowhere to go. Here I am destroying a bridge that could be used for his escape.
2. Mr. Chippie is so disgusting. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth whenever he eludes me.

Wanted Part 3

Hello! This is Private Eye Danielle reporting from the Northwoods hangout of Mr. Chippie. I am reporting good and bad news.

My crook has a sidekick! Again, my secret intelligence organization has come through for me. They have found the whereabouts of a second hideout in the outback woods! This is where they are stockpiling more supplies! I have found many chipmunk-sized secret entrances and a main entry. Through my secret intelligence reporters, I have also found out that their hideout will be demolished with a certain demolisher beast some human beans call a skid steer. The main hideout will be totally destroyed! But will it be enough to keep the bad guys at bay? From my knowledge of the local chippie population, if the population is totally destroyed in an area, it will be infiltrated with them again in the spring. It will be a long battle, but I am convinced that we can win. "I have not yet begun to fight!!!"

*a few minutes later* What's that bean? You mean somebean already made the quote, "I have not yet begun to fight, already? I mean, I want it to be my quote! Oohh, so that's unavoidable? *Huff*

Crime scene photos:

1. The first time I visited the crime scene I found a wealth of stolen pinecones and corncobs. I must document everything carefully as I found it. You never know where they might hide it.
2. My paws could be a carrier of oils or smell that chippies can smell. They must be carefully washed, so that the leave no trace behind.

Wanted Part 2!

He's so close I can smell him!

Hello! This is Lieutenant Investigator Danielle reporting from the Northwoods. I have found the hangout of my most wanted and notorious criminal, Mr. Chipmunk (A.K.A. Chippie)! I had received tips about his whereabouts through my secret intelligence organization. Already, he is storing up for the winter in his hideout. He has many secret entrances to his den. I have located all of them. One of his comrades has already fallen, and he is the last thread in the rope of his gang's survival. I must arrest him before he resorts to his secret underground shelter!

Today, I made an attempt to arrest him. He didn't know I was there, but was scared off accidentally by my bean. Oops! We'll have to work on the stealth approach.
